The 1st Annual 8 Days Late Atomjack Contest

WINNERS ANNOUNCED AND PUBLISHED IN OCTOBER 2007!
Hello, science fiction writers, readers and general enthusiasts. I am pleased to announce the first annual Atomjack Fiction contest.
Conditions:
1) It has to be Science Fiction. If you submit something and it is NOT SF, and you already paid, well, thanks for the $3.
2) You have to pay. I know, I know. You're all poor and lonely and you REALLY need that $3 for the next issue of Ultimate Fantastic Four, but come on! (Carey's writing it, it can't be that good.) My advice: Write or polish that piece of SF you've been saving for the big guns. The price for the fame and fortune is:
$1 for flash fiction (up to 500 words)
$3 for short story (up to 5,000 words)
It's less than you would spend snail-mailing your submission. Send payment first (include your name and the story name in your payment comments). Then, submit your story to atomjackSF2006@yahoo.com*

3) Prizes? You need prizes for this to be a contest? Sheesh! You . . . people. Okay, well, I guess I can pass on that limited edition Spider-girl #0 and dish out . . . $250 for the short story (1st place) and $50 (winner) for the flash fiction piece! There will be 2nd and 3rd place for fiction (with prizes to be determined by quality and competition). But, but! Fiction is not the long and short of it, my droogs. I am also look for . . .
4) Artwork! I never get enough good quality artwork submitted to Atomjack, so I'm having a two-part art contest as well. ARTISTS! This is FREE to enter! You have nothing to lose, and . . . SOMETHING to gain.
Part 1) An Atomjack logo! You've seen what we do with the Atomjack logo every month. We've had atoms, planets, cybernetic eyes, and much more to come. I want static drawings, paintings, tags, anything. Whatever! You think up a good Atomjack logo and draw it, scan it, color it and send it my way.
Part 2) Original SF themed artwork. You've seen what's up on the main page every month. Steampunk robot chameleons, cartoon alien ships, and unyielding guardian cyborgs, &c. I'm looking for quality art submissions--drawings, paintings, subtle manipulations, sculptures, faecal smears . . . well, maybe not that last one.
Prizes for all artwork to be determined by quality and competition. I'll be working closely with Susurrus Press' art editor Karen Worley to ensure that the best artwork is on display.
